Are there any fees when using Halocards?

Accepted Answer

There are no transaction fees to worry about when using Halocard for US purchases either online, or in-person, via Apple/Google Pay.

Purchases outside the US, in a currency other than USD, may attract an international transaction fee to cover currency conversion and overseas payment processing.

Do you offer a plan with unlimited virtual cards?

Unfortunately we do not offer an unlimited plan. We can provide you with a maximum of 60 cards on our Teams plan.

Can I change my plan?

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan as your needs change. Plan upgrades take affect immediately and plan downgrades are processed at the end of your billing period.

What happens to my virtual cards if I downgrade my plan?

Any active virtual cards you have above the limit of your new plan will be automatically cancelled. Please ensure you've cancelled any excess cards before downgrading your plan.

Refunds and cancellations

Subscription fees are billed in advance and non-refundable. If you choose to cancel, you plan will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

Can I set custom billing address for my Halocards?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can set a custom billing address for every Halocard you create.

A billing address is associated with a Halocard virtual card for payment verification purposes only. Merchants require a billing address to complete an address verification check that helps confirm you're the real card holder. Setting a custom billing address allows you to share only the details you nominate when making an online purchase.

If you do not set a custom billing address, your Halocard will use your default address provided during your identification verification check.

When making online purchases using your virtual cards, please ensure the billing address you enter matches the billing address on your Halocard. If your purchases are declining with the reason "Address verification failed" or similar reason, please see the article: Do Halocards support AVS (Address Verification System)

Question 5

What details do I need to provide to verify my account?

Accepted Answer

To verify your Halocard account, you’ll be asked to complete a quick identity check as required by our card issuer, bank, and card network (Visa).

Identity check: You'll be asked to provide the following details:

Legal name
Residential address
Date of birth
A valid government-issued ID
A selfie to verify your identity

This check usually takes less than 3 minutes and is securely processed by our identity verification partner, Sumsub.

Visa compliance: Because Halocards are secured credit cards designed for high acceptance, Visa will ask a few additional questions:

Your occupation
Your approximate income
Your primary reason for using the card
Your expected card spend

These questions are for compliance purposes and do not result in any credit check or soft/hard credit pull.

This verification process is required to keep Halocard secure and compliant and once complete, Halocard removes the personal information used for identity verification from our platform. For more details see: What happens to my personal data after verification?

Does Halocard support AVS (Address Verification System)?

Yes, Halocards support Address Verification System (AVS) checks that are required by some merchants to verify payment information.

About Address Verification System (AVS) checks

When making online purchases, you may be required to enter a billing address at checkout. This address may be used by merchants for payment verification purposes, including Address Verification Service (AVS) checks.

AVS is a fraud-prevention check used by merchants to compare the billing address you enter (usually the numeric values including the street number and zip code) with the address on file for your card. If they do not match, the transaction may be declined.

Declined purchases due to an "Address verification failed" error

If your purchases are declining with the reason "Address verification failed", "billing address mistmatch" or "AVC check failed", please ensure you're entering the correct billing address for your specific Halocard. If the problem persists, try entering the zip code 00917 at checkout (the default ZIP code from Halocard's issuing bank) which often resolves AVS-related issues.
