Can I use Halocard for Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT)?
Yes. Halocard is supported as a payment method across Anthropic and OpenAI products, including Claude Pro, Claude Max, Claude Team, the Anthropic API, ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, ChatGPT Team, and the OpenAI API.
Both platforms process payments through Stripe and accept Visa, so a US-issued Halocard is accepted and particularly useful if your locally-issued cards have been declined by these services.
Setting up for a smooth payment
- Make sure your account is in a supported region, and being used in line with their Terms of Use. No credit card can override account-level restrictions.
- Match the billing address you enter at checkout to the one set on your Halocard exactly, character for character.
- Set per-transaction and monthly limits high enough to cover the plan amount, or any auto top-ups you might trigger on the API.
What's outside our control
- Account-level region restrictions. If your Anthropic or OpenAI account is registered in a region they don't support, no payment method will get around that.
- Platform-side fraud rules that decline payments based on account behaviour, IP signals, or browser session data (also outside of Halocard's control).
- 3D Secure challenges that don't complete due to popup blockers or browser extensions.
If your payment is declined, start with our transaction decline guide. For a deeper Anthropic-specific walkthrough, our blog post How to pay for Claude with a virtual card covers the full checklist.
